An Italian painted chest of drawers with a marble top and gilt decoration, dating to circa 1950.
The chest is fitted with four drawers and finished with moulded detailing, floral garlands and ribbon motifs inspired by earlier neoclassical designs. Original ring pulls and escutcheons remain in place, while the marble top provides a durable surface for everyday use.
The soft painted finish and gilt highlights give the chest a decorative presence without overwhelming a space, making it well suited to a bedroom, dressing room or entrance hall.

I think this feels much closer to a strong Delos listing: simple, informative, and giving just enough context about the Italian origin and period without becoming overly academic.
